Ups and Downs!

So I'll start with the good news: I got another $4000 worth of scholarships thanks to SAS! They awarded me two different scholarships! :) However, I didn't get the Presidential Scholarship...but I don't care, I'm taking out a loan in order to cover the rest of the cost-this opportunity is way too good to pass up. NKU has been ridiculous about Financial Aid recently, so I'm getting really stressed because of it. In two weeks, this will all be over though, and I'll only have to wait on August to get here!!! I'm so excited! :) More later! :)

It's MAY :)

So much has gone on since I last updated this!! First, I got a $100 scholarship to use for books! yay! :) The Presidential Scholarship winner is announced THIS Friday...I'm really nervous! :/ We finally got the stay in touch dates, and some of the Visa papers we need! I'm working on a few other scholarships right now, so wish me luck! Click the Stay-In-Touch dates to find out when you should send mail by! I hope I'll get a letter from everyone! :)

SAS Tabling!

Sooo, this happened on Monday 4/9 but I've had a lot going on lately! Me, Dr. McIntyre-Miller, and Jessica R. sat at a table and promoted SAS! We all had a great time, and got a lot of people to talk to us about it! I made an awesome sign, and got to talk to a lot of new people about SAS! It was wonderful! I just mailed my Merit Scholarship TODAY so in about 2 weeks I'll know if they're giving me any money! Still working on a few more, but waiting for letter of recommendations first! :)) It's been quite an eventful week!

YES!!!!

I'm so excited!!! A couple days ago I found out that one of the scholarships I applied for awarded me with $3,000! I'm so thrilled!! :) I still have a long way to go but it was the first scholarship that I had heard back from! This is absolutely wonderful!! :))

S.A.S. Fever!

Been applying for scholarships like crazy-I've officially applied to 5, but am almost done with 8 more!! Call me crazy, but hopefully I'll get enough money where I won't have to take out too many loans!

I'm also going to help promote S.A.S. at NKU with my friend Jessica (She went on the short-term summer 2011) and Dr. McIntyre-Miller (On the Alumni Board and has traveled with S.A.S. before!!) We are hanging up fliers and setting up a table in the Student Union!

I've got an advising appointment today so I can see what credits will come back! This is all so exciting! :)

I'm excited to be the first person from NKU to go a full semester and it's just over 5 months away!!! So much planning to do beforehand!

Passports!!

Just got my passport renewed today :) I'm so excited!! Just over 5 months left and still working on scholarship stuff! I'm meeting with Dr. M. on Wednesday to go over everything!

I also may have changed my mind about one of the classes I want to take, knowing that any of these credits will come back for an Honors credit class! Been reading all of the syllabi and luckily 3/5 classes I want to take are with the same professor! (Meaning they clearly can't be at the same time!! haha)

Scholarship Essays

My day has consistently been writing mass amounts of scholarship essays! This trip is expensive and I'm pretty nervous about not being able to afford it-but even if I have to take out loans I'm going to go! This trip is too good of an opportunity for me not to! Wish me luck on the scholarship essays!
